Intermediates Crowned 2012/2013 B Division Champions
The intermediates capped a great season by defeating North Bay to win the Intermediate B League Championship on April 6 in Thornhill, ON.
The game was an interesting game to say the least with lots of penalties being called on both sides with the Blizzard weathering a few five
on three situations in the second period and surviving the loss of two players in the first half of the game.
Though the Intermediates never held a lead in the game they played with grit and determination, holding their own against the
opposition. Arguably the Blizzard Intermediates had more high quality scoring chances than their opponents, especially in the final period but could only
find the back of the net twice against a superb North Bay goalie. At the other end Chris Wood kept his team in the game with many superb saves.
In the end, regulation time solved nothing and neither did overtime. A shootout with Craig Silverthorn scoring the only goal of any of the six
shooters was the winning margin and the Intermediate London Blizzard became B League Champions for the second time.
2013 Tournament Wrapup
The tournament is over for another year and both London Blizzard teams had an outstanding tournament.
Despite coming in fourth in their division the Blizzard Development team had an awesome tournament with great scoring, goal keeping, team play and notching their first win of the season.
The Intermediate team also played an exemplary tournament coming second in their division against stiff competition. Through the five games they played four were decided by a single goal which they split 2 wins 2 losses. Both losses came against the same opponent with the second being in the tightly contested gold medal game.
This year's tournament is over but the preparation for next year has already begun. Next year is the 10th anniversary of our tournament and through hard work on and off the ice we hope both teams put in just as good a showing next year!

Intermediates win over Brant County
In a warm up to our home tournament the Intermediates won 3-0 over Brant County. It wasn't the best game of the season but the team did score in each period
which is what is needed to get full points in the tournament. Here's hoping the scoring touch and winning ways continue into the tournament.
Intermediates Continue Their Winning Ways
The intermediate team played against the Mississauga Red Dawgs and came away with a win. Chris Wood made some awesome saves in net to preserve the shutout.

Intermediates Win Cruiser Cup
The Intermediate team faced some adversity but overcame it winning the Cruiser Cup. The intermediates lost the
last game of the Round Robin to a North Bay team invigorated by some extra players from Elmvale but composed
themselves overnight to win the rematch in the semi-finals. They then played Essex-Kent for the championship
and came out on top with a 2-1 decision in overtime. Congratulations to the team, you played really well with
lots of passing and sharing the scoring duties between many of the players.
Intermediates Start Season on a Positive Note
The Blizzard Intermediate team played it's first two games of the season against North Bay this past weekend and came out with one win (3-0) and one tie (2-2).
The entire team played a great team game with lots of passing and thinking leading to many prolonged periods of controlling the puck in their end and some awesome scoring opportunities.
The opposing goalie played well to keep our score down and there are definitely take aways for the team to get better, but overall, a great start to the season.
