Code of Conduct

Player, Parent/Guardian

The London Blizzard Sledge Hockey Club is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, welcoming, and positive environment for all players, families, coaches, volunteers, officials, and spectators.


We believe in:

• Respect for everyone

• Sportsmanship on and off the ice

• Inclusion and accessibility

• Teamwork and personal growth

• Fair play and integrity

• Creating a positive experience for all participants


As members of the London Blizzard community, athletes and families represent the Club both on and off the ice.

ATHLETE RESPONSIBILITIES

Athletes agree to:

  1. Treat teammates, opponents, coaches, officials, volunteers, and spectators with respect at all times.

  2. Demonstrate good sportsmanship in both victory and defeat.

  3. Follow the rules of the game and the policies of the London Blizzard Sledge Hockey Club.

  4. Listen to coaches, team staff, and officials.

  5. Use appropriate language and behaviour at all Club activities.

  6. Respect all equipment, dressing rooms, arenas, hotels, buses, and facilities.

  7. Attend practices, games, and events prepared to participate and contribute positively.

  8. Promote an environment that is free from bullying, harassment, discrimination, intimidation, or abuse.

  9. Report safety concerns or inappropriate behaviour to a coach, volunteer, or Board member.

  10. Be a positive ambassador for the London Blizzard and para sport community.

PARENT/GUARDIAN RESPONSIBILITIES

Parents and guardians agree to:

  1. Encourage athletes to participate in a positive and respectful manner.

  2. Support coaches, volunteers, officials, and team staff.

  3. Respect the decisions of officials and coaches.

  4. Refrain from abusive, aggressive, or inappropriate behaviour.

  5. Help create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all participants.

  6. Address concerns through appropriate channels and not through confrontation during games or practices.

  7. Promote good sportsmanship and positive behaviour.

  8. Respect the time and efforts of volunteers who help operate the Club.

SAFETY AND CONDUCT

The following behaviours will not be tolerated:

• Bullying or harassment

• Physical or verbal abuse

• Discrimination based on disability, race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or background

• Threatening behaviour

• Vandalism or intentional damage to property

• Illegal activity

• Possession or use of illegal drugs

• Participation while impaired by alcohol or drugs

• Any conduct that places others at risk

TOURNAMENTS, TRAVEL AND EVENTS

Athletes and families attending tournaments, travel events, or team functions are expected to:

• Follow all team rules and curfews established by coaches or team staff.

• Respect hotel, arena, and facility policies.

• Conduct themselves in a manner that reflects positively on the London Blizzard.

• Respect teammates, roommates, volunteers, and event organizers.

DISCIPLINARY ACTION

Failure to comply with this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action including:

• Verbal warning

• Written warning

• Suspension from activities

• Removal from an event or tournament

• Loss of Club privileges

• Removal from the London Blizzard Sledge Hockey Club

The severity of discipline will be determined by the Board of Directors based on the nature of the incident.

I have read and understand the London Blizzard Athlete & Parent/Guardian Code of Conduct. I agree to uphold these standards and contribute to a positive environment for all participants.
